Loading Syllable Catch…
Syllable Catch is a fast sorting game for young readers. Syllables drift down the screen, and you steer the catcher underneath the ones that match the type you’re collecting: open, closed, vowel team, magic e, r-controlled or consonant-le. Catch the right ones, dodge the rest, and the round speeds up as you go.
It’s built for the six syllable types kids learn in phonics, so a teacher can pick exactly the types a class is working on: just two to start, all six for the kids who are ready.
How to play
- On the title screen, check at least two syllable types, then press Let’s go!
- Move the catcher with the ← and → keys (or A and D). On a phone or tablet, drag it.
- Catch the syllables that match the type shown. Let the others fall.
- P pauses, M toggles sound, F goes fullscreen.

- Open and closed syllables (the first two most kids meet)
